2.11 Interfaces

2.11.1 CDMS Interface

The CDMS interface is implemented in the Controller's FPGA. It complies with the CDMS interface definition (REID-A)1. A non-redundant RIU in intelligent / non-redundant units with hardware decoded HK delivery implementation was chosen for ADS. The specific ADS CDMS address is 5 (00101B). If the subsystem is addressed by CDMS, then the CIU interprets the following four cases by hardware:

  1. SSADR received
    SSADR word synchron pattern detected
  2. Status request
    SSTS word synchron pattern detected
  3. Receive command
    SSCMD/DAT word synchron pattern detected, T/R = 0
  4. Transmit data
    SSCMD/DAT word synchron pattern detected, T/R = 1

The ADS software manages the CDMS requests by interrupt and formats and outputs a status word. After that it gives control to three corresponding user callback routines to handle the CDMS request.

2.11.2 Electronic Interface Board

2.11.3 Primary Bus

The QM needs 28 V power source direct from the primary bus. The current is measured by the QM itself. The measurement circuit is similar to the circuits on the Electronic Interface Board.

2.11.4 Power Consumption

Typical power consumption at 25 C, see table 13.

Table 13: QM Power Consumption
Voltage Current Comments
$+5$ V 100 mA
$+12$ V 30 mA
$+28$ V 900 mA Valves
$+28$ V 700 mA Tank Openers
$-5$ V 60 mA
$-12$ V 10 mA
